Fun for a "not-so-big" country fan
"We had a good time. My wife & I arrived a little late for the opening act [Jared] Who did well, he warmed up the audience for Darius & How Sweet The Sound. Darius was fantastic. Mostly playing his new solo material. However, he included 2 Hootie songs, Family Tradition [which I hadn't heard in years], & closed with a blazing rendition of Purple Rain. It was unexpected to hear that at a country concert! He gave away his hat while his guitarist rocked out on a black Flying V guitar. This was enjoyable. My Babe was "in her element". How Sweet The Sound is one of her preferred artists, I've listened to his albums with her. Chuckled at his jokes, appreciated his guitar skills. However, I wish I could purchase this performance. He showcased a nice blend of solos seamlessly integrated into the song lineup. Ranging from fiery, to almost vocal, to some cool effects pedals. As a guitar enthusiast, this was a satisfying show for me. A great climax, to a week of small surprises for my wife for V-day. Oh, for those familiar with my blogs, I even attempted to assist a guy in front of me trying to capture photos with his phone.
Seats. Nice seats. Excellent view when How Sweet The Sound returned to "perform for the cheap seats". I felt sorry for the security personnel walking backwards, though. The railing posed a visibility issue for us shorter folks. But a decent sight. You could easily see everyone, yet were positioned far enough back to appreciate the screens/ image enlargement /graphics/ light show [impressive throughout all 3 acts]. Proximity to restrooms, concessions, & merchandise stands. Overall, I would definitely choose these seats again."
